Relay Mesh – Terms of Service

Effective date: March 13, 2026 · Last updated: March 13, 2026

Summary: Relay is a decentralized, offline-first messaging app. By using Relay, you agree to use it responsibly, respect other users, and understand how the mesh network operates. There are no paid subscriptions, no accounts, and no central authority.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using Relay Mesh ("Relay", "the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Relay is developed by Mindora Labs ("we", "us").

2. What Relay Is

Relay is a peer-to-peer messaging application that uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to send messages between nearby devices. Messages travel from phone to phone using a store-carry-forward model. Relay does not use central servers for message delivery.

3. No Account Required

Relay does not require registration, email, phone number, or any personal information. Your identity is a cryptographic key pair generated locally on your device. You are solely responsible for your device and your cryptographic identity.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to use Relay to:

Since Relay is decentralized and we cannot see your messages, enforcement relies on local device controls (blocking, muting) and the protocol's built-in anti-abuse mechanisms.

5. Message Delivery

Relay operates on a best-effort basis. Messages are not guaranteed to be delivered, and delivery times depend on physical proximity to other Relay users. Messages have a time-to-live (TTL) and will expire if not delivered within that period. Relay is designed for eventual delivery, not instant messaging.

6. Tokens and Rewards

Relay includes an internal token system that rewards users for relaying messages. These tokens:

We reserve the right to adjust the token economy (reward rates, caps, features) to maintain network health and prevent abuse.

7. Privacy

Your privacy is fundamental to Relay. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details. In summary: we collect no personal data, messages are encrypted end-to-end, and all data stays on your device.

8. Intellectual Property

Relay, its name, logo, and code are the property of Mindora Labs. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app. The protocol specifications and certain components may be released as open source under separate licenses.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Relay is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mindora Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use Relay. This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of data, loss of communication, or reliance on message delivery.

11. Age Requirement

Relay is intended for users aged 18 and older. By using Relay, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

12. Modifications to the Service

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of Relay at any time. We will communicate significant changes through the app or this page. Continued use of Relay after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of Relay constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Madrid, Spain.
